Panoramic and Digital X-rays

X-rays are used to check for abnormalities and develop treatment plans for numerous conditions. They are a vital part of the diagnostic tools used in dentists' offices. At Davis Dental, we use the latest x-ray technology to produce the clearest, most detailed images possible. Our digital x-rays appear quickly on the screen, cutting down on wait times and reducing patient exposure to radiation by 90 percent. Panoramic x-rays are used to take pictures of the entire inner structure of the jaws and sinuses to diagnose the cause of pain, identify misalignments and screen for various types of cancer. With the help of our sophisticated x-ray equipment, we are able to catch many problems in their early stages and deliver less invasive, more effective treatments as a result. You can learn more about our x-ray technology at an initial appointment with Dr. Davis. Contact us to schedule.

A pearly white smile has a dramatically positive effect on your entire appearance, as your teeth are one of the things that people notice about you first. Coffee, tea, soda, cigarette smoke, tobacco, medications and other substances can leave behind deep stains on your teeth that detract from the beauty of your smile. Bleaching is a process of removing these stains with safe, effective chemicals that penetrate the dental enamel and dissolve the discoloration. Davis Dental offers very affordable bleaching services that are far more effective than at-home whitening systems. Our low cost means virtually anyone can enjoy a whiter smile. Give us a call to learn more about bleaching.

Periodontist Specialist

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that nearly half of all adults have some stage of periodontitis or gum disease. If you're among them, you are at an increased risk for bone erosion, tooth loss and even heart disease. Davis Dental can help you avoid the serious complications of periodontal disease with our periodontics services. Our periodontics specialist will develop a customized treatment plan to address your symptoms, combining various therapies and techniques to stop the progression of the disease. Once your gum disease symptoms have begun to be managed, our dental hygienists and periodontics specialist will perform the regular periodontics maintenance necessary to promote ongoing gum health.

Symptoms of gum disease include redness of the gums, new spaces forming between the teeth, changes in bite or bleeding when you brush. Contact our office for an appointment if you are experiencing any of these symptoms.

Pediatric Specialist

When a baby is born, his or her 20 baby teeth are already busy growing. Baby teeth begin to emerge by 6 months, and by the age of 2 or 3, children are ready for regular care from a dentist. At Davis Dental, our pediatric dentistry specialist is committed to helping our littlest patients have healthy mouths. We foster a kid-friendly environment where children feel at ease in order to prevent fears that can lead to lifelong avoidance of the dentist. Our pediatric specialist sees toddlers, school-aged children and adolescents and will take the time to fully explain treatments both to you and your child. We will also provide the education that you need to help your child take the best possible care of his or her teeth at home. Give us a call to book an initial appointment to introduce your child to our team.

Endodontic Specialist

When the inner pulp of the teeth becomes diseased or damaged, steps must be quickly taken to preserve the tooth and those around it. The pulp contains the nerves and blood vessels that nourish the tooth and keep it healthy, and if an infection or injury is allowed to progress and blood flow to the tooth is disrupted, tooth loss is almost always inevitable. Fortunately, our endodontic specialist can often save teeth with root canal therapy when infections or damage are caught in their early stages. During a root canal, the pulp is removed, and the tooth is flushed with antiseptic to fight infection. Then, rubber filler is added to support the tooth and a crown is placed to cover it. Many people are fearful of root canals, but the treatment is actually painless with the anesthetics used by our endodontic specialist.

If you are noticing sensitivity when you eat or drink hot or cold beverages, have chronic tooth pain or have noticed swelling or discharge around a tooth, you may be in need of endodontic treatment. Call our office today to schedule an appointment as soon as possible.

Hygiene Department

Brushing and flossing your teeth at home helps to remove food particles and the sticky plaque that forms on the dental enamel and around the gum line. If you do not completely remove all of the plaque, it will harden into tartar within 48 to 72 hours. Once tartar forms, it cannot be removed easily at home, and the bacteria that it contains contribute to tooth decay and gum inflammation. Having your teeth professionally cleaned at least twice per year can help to remove tartar before problems can develop. Our hygiene department is staffed by experienced hygienists who use a caring touch and the latest proven techniques to remove tartar and clean the teeth. We also offer periodontic maintenance, including scaling and root planing. Schedule your routine cleaning and exam today.
